Orlando Engelaar
Orlando Engelaar (born August 24, 1979 in Rotterdam, South Holland) is a Netherlands association football Midfielder Defensive midfielder who plays for FC Schalke 04 in the Fußball-Bundesliga. He previously played for Feyenoord at youth level, NAC Breda, FC Twente and K.R.C. Genk.

Orlando Engelaar (born August 24, 1979 in Rotterdam, South Holland) is a Netherlands association football Midfielder Defensive midfielder who plays for FC Schalke 04 in the Fußball-Bundesliga. He previously played for Feyenoord at youth level, NAC Breda, FC Twente and K.R.C. Genk.
Being 1.98 meters tall, he is a towering and commanding presence in midfield and also one of the tallest players in the German Bundesliga. Previously a striker, he is now usually found in midfield where he has impressed with his aerial and passing abilities. His greatest quality is largely considered to be his through pass because, in spite of his size, he is very much an attack minded player.
He made his international debut for the Netherlands national football team in a friendly against Korea Republic national football team on June 2, 2007 and was picked by coach Marco van Basten for the Dutch UEFA Euro 2008 squad. He played the full ninety minutes in the Netherlands national football team 3-0 victory over Italy national football team in their UEFA Euro 2008 Group C match. Engelaar also featured in the Netherlands' second group match of the tournament, playing the first half in a 4-1 win over France national football team. He played the full 90 minutes in the third group stage match against Romania national football team, which resulted in a 2-0 victory for the Dutch side. In the lost quarter-final match against Russia national football team (1-3), Engelaar was part of the starting eleven. He was substituted by Ibrahim Afellay in the 61st minute.
