Hatem Ben Arfa (born on March 7, 1987 in Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine)) is a France Football (soccer) of Tunisia descent, currently playing for Olympique Lyonnais.
Club
A graduate of the youth ranks in the Olympique Lyonnais, he broke through to the first team during the 2005/2006 season, making his début in the Ligue 1 opener against OGC Nice.
He recently has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
National Team
Ben Arfa had scored 15 times in 22 appearances for France national football team Under-17 side before the triumph at the 2004 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship in May. At the finals, played in France, Ben Arfa was a revelation alongside fellow forwards Jérémy Menez and Samir Nasri, scoring against Northern Ireland national football team, Turkey national football team and Portugal national football team. The following season he was moved up to the Under-18 squad.
Ben Arfa was offered a place in the Tunisian national football team to compete at the 2006 FIFA World Cup staged in Germany. He turned down this opportunity, wishing to continue his career with French national football team.
