After a disappointing season 2006/07 he switched to Werder Bremen for a fee of 4,5 Mio Euro which can rise up to 6 Mio Euro.
Being from the North of Ivory Coast (as opposed to most of nowadays Ivory Coast National Team partners), Bouba never had a really good chance in the Ivory Coast National Team, but, as with his fellow partners (Abdulkader Keita, Aruna Dindane,...), he should become a major asset of the National Team in the years to come.
Playing for Al Ain FC of UAE, he helped win the AFC Champions League in 2003.
