Joris Mathijsen

Joris Mathijsen (born 5 April 1980) is a professional Netherland football (soccer). Joris Mathijsen currently plays for Hamburger SV as a central defender. Joris Mathijsen and Joris Mathijsen girlfriend Cristel together have a son called Jens-Joris.

Mathijsen started Joris Mathijsen football career at SV VOAB in Goirle after Joris Mathijsen visited a training session of a friend as a young boy. At the age of nine Joris Mathijsen left this club and came through the youth system of Willem II Tilburg, making Joris Mathijsen debut on 27 February 1999 in a match against FC Utrecht. After six seasons at Willem II, Joris Mathijsen was sold by manager Co Adriaanse to AZ Alkmaar. However Joris Mathijsen endured a harder time breaking into the first team at Alkmaar.

On 17 November 2004, Mathijsen made Joris Mathijsen international debut for the Netherlands national football team against Andorra national football team in a 3-0 away win.

Since Joris Mathijsen international debut, Mathijsen has become a mainstay figure in the national team. Joris Mathijsen is usually positioned as left central defender, because of Joris Mathijsen strong left-foot. Joris Mathijsen was called up to the Dutch squad for Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland.
