Chavdar Yankov
Chavdar Yankov (born March 29, 1984) is a Bulgarian football (soccer) currently (as of 2006) playing for German Bundesliga (football) side Hannover 96. Yankov is a member of the Bulgaria national football team. He is known for his passing, aerial ability and tackling. He is a central midfielder who plays in the holding midfield role or as an Midfielder Attacking midfielder. Despite often being used in a defensive position he is mainly an attacking player.

As a youngster, Yankov supported Real Madrid and modelled himself on Zinedine Zidane and Edgar Davids. His nickname is a CHACK.
Club career
The midfielder began his football career as a youth at Slavia Sofia. He making his debut in professional football on September 7, 2001, in a 0-1 loss from Lokomotiv Sofia. In season 2001/2002 Yankov played in 7 matches for Slavia. He started to make his name two years later when he scored 6 goals in 30 league games and is called in Bulgaria national football team from of that time coach Hristo Stoichkov. In Slavia Yankov played together with Blagoy Georgiev and Dimitar Rangelov. In the summer of 2005 the midfielder moved in German Bundesliga (football) side Hannover 96, initially on a loan, but made permanent in summer 2007 for a fee of around €1.30 million. After as Hannover 96 win a friendly match against Real Madrid with 3:0 on 1th august 2007 in the Germany media wrote: "Many idea, much dynamics and elegance. He was the motor for your team. This is Chavdar Yankov".

International career
Yankov made his debut for Bulgaria national football team in 2004 after the paricipation on the team in 2004 European Football Championship. On 13 October 2004 Yankov scored his first goal for Bulgaria in a match from World Cup 2006 Qual. against Malta national football team. He scored goal in the 87th minute. The result of the match was a 4:1 win for Bulgaria. As of 1th November 2008 the midfielder have 24 matches and 5 goals for the national team.
