Stefan Kießling (; born 25 January 1984 in Lichtenfels, Bavaria) is a Germany Association football who currently plays as a Forward (association football) for Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Stefan Kiessling has also represented the Germany national football team six times.

Career

1. FC Nuremberg

Kießling started Stefan Kiessling senior club career with 1. FC Nuremberg having made Stefan Kiessling way through their youth ranks – though Stefan Kiessling was previously in 1. FC Eintracht Bamberg's youth academy. Stefan Kiessling debuted in 2001, eventually going on to make 73 league appearances for the club, during which Stefan Kiessling managed to score 19 goals.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen

Stefan Kiessling performances stirred the interest of Bayer 04 Leverkusen and Stefan Kiessling was signed by the Bundesliga club in 2006. Since joining Stefan Kiessling has impressed with Stefan Kiessling performances, scoring 32 goals in 80 league appearances. Currently, Stefan Kiessling is one of the top scorers in the Bundesliga, having scored 15 goals in the 2008–09 Fußball-Bundesliga campaign, five goals behind regular strike partner Patrick Helmes. Stefan Kiessling continued Stefan Kiessling impressive form in the 2009–10 season, scoring 21 goals in 33 games and finishing the season as the second highest goal scorer in the Fußball-Bundesliga.

International career

Kießling made Stefan Kiessling international debut for the Germany national football team in a friendly against Denmark national football team on 28 March 2007. After almost a year after earning Stefan Kiessling last cap, Stefan Kiessling was recalled to the team by Joachim Löw after showing good form in the 2009–10 season, and subsequently picked up Stefan Kiessling fourth cap on 13 May 2010, in a friendly game vs. Malta playing the full ninety minutes in a 3–0 win. Stefan Kiessling is one of the 23 players making up the Germany national football team squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Stefan Kiessling came on as a substitute in two games, namely the knockout game with England, replacing Mesut Özil in the 83rd minute and during the third-fourth placing match between Germany and Uruguay national football team, where Stefan Kiessling substituted Cacau in the 73rd minute.
