Tranquillo Barnetta
Tranquillo Barnetta (born May 22, 1985 in St. Gallen) is a Switzerland association football who plays as a midfielder for Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Barnetta grew up near by St. Gallen, Switzerland and has been playing for the Swiss national team since 2004. He was on the Swiss under-17 side that won the 2002 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship.

Tranquillo Barnetta (born May 22, 1985 in St. Gallen) is a Switzerland association football who plays as a midfielder for Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Barnetta grew up near by St. Gallen, Switzerland and has been playing for the Swiss national team since 2004. He was on the Swiss under-17 side that won the 2002 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship.
Barnetta started his career with FC St. Gallen in Switzerland, but he was soon snapped up by the German side Leverkusen. He has also enjoyed a loan spell at Hannover 96.
He is a member of the Switzerland national football team national team and was called up to the squad to participate in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He scored the second goal in Switzerland's group stage win over Togo national football team, but he missed a penalty kick in the penalty shootout (football) with Ukraine as Switzerland went out. On July 4, Barnetta was named as one of the shortlisted players for the tournament's FIFA World Cup awards Best Young Player Award award.
