Martin Demichelis biography
Martín Gastón Demichelis (Born December 20, 1980 in Justiniano Posse, Córdoba Province (Argentina)) is an Argentina soccer player who usually plays as a Midfielder for FC Bayern Munich, but because of his aerial ability, he is often used as a backup defender (football) as well.
Micho started playing professionally in 1998 at Buenos Aires based club CA River Plate, but he didn't manage to find himself a spot in the starting line-up until 2001. He had some good performances at River Plate, which resulted in a transfer to FC Bayern Munich in 2003. His first season with the Germany team was not very positive, because he suffered a number of minor injuries, but under the command of coach Felix Magath, he has found a place in the teams' starting line-up. Martín has also played a vital role for Bayern in winning their two consecutive "The Double" in 2005, and 2006. On September 11 2007, he scored his first international goal in a friendly match against Australia national football (soccer) team, in which his header proved to be the winning scoreline 1-0.
Many people agree that the Argentine player has the style of the German idol Franz Beckenbauer.
