Patrick Owomoyela
Patrick Owomoyela (born November 5, 1979 in Hamburg) is a Germany football (soccer) player, currently with Borussia Dortmund, and is also a member of the Germany national football team. He was born to a German people mother and a Nigerian father.

Patrick Owomoyela (born November 5, 1979 in Hamburg) is a Germany football (soccer) player, currently with Borussia Dortmund, and is also a member of the Germany national football team. He was born to a German people mother and a Nigerian father.
Club career
Owomoyela, a right-sided defender/midfielder with stamina, began his career with modest German clubs. In 2003, he switched to Arminia Bielefeld, then in 2. Fußball-Bundesliga, achieving promotion.
In Fußball-Bundesliga 2005-06, Owomoyela joined German giants SV Werder Bremen, and was the undisputed starter at right back, as the side finished runner-up. With the arrival of Clemens Fritz the following season, however, he lost his starting position.
Borussia Dortmund paid about 2.5 million euro for Owomoyela. For the next season, he will play for them.
International career
Owomoyela debuted for Jürgen Klinsmann's Germany national football team in an Asian tour, playing 90 minutes in a 3-0 win over Japan national football team, on December 16, 2004, in Yokohama. He also appeared against South Korea national football team and Thailand national football team, and was finally overlooked for Germany's 2006 FIFA World Cup final squad.
Personal
In addition to his football skills, Owomoyela is also a very good basketball player, having played in the German regional league before switching to football full time. He also has provided commentary for German-language telecasts of National Basketball Association games.
