Germán Denis

Germán Gustavo Denis (born September 10, 1981 Remedios de Escalada, Buenos Aires Province) is an Argentina Association football playing for S.S.C. Napoli in Italy.

Footballing career

Germán Denis began Germán Denis career in 1997 playing for Germán Denis local team Club Atlético Talleres de Remedios de Escalada in Primera B Metropolitana, which is the regionalised 3rd division of Argentine football.

In 2000 Germán Denis moved to Primera newboys Club Atlético Los Andes, in Lomas de Zamora, but the club was relegated at the end of Germán Denis first season, Germán Denis continued playing for them in Primera B Nacional until Germán Denis was signed by Italian Serie B side A.C. Cesena.

In 2003 made Germán Denis return to Argentina and the Primera Division with Jorge Burruchaga's Arsenal de Sarandí. Germán Denis played for them for 2 seasons before moving on to Colón de Santa Fe. In the summer of 2006 Germán Denis rejoined former manager Jorge Burruchaga at Club Atlético Independiente.

After scoring 15 goals in the first 13 games of the 2007-2008 in Argentine football Torneo Apertura .28.22Opening.22 Tournament.29 tournament, Denis was called up to join the Argentinian national football team for the first two matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification, against Chile national football team and Venezuela national football team. Germán Denis made Germán Denis debut with a brief substitute appearance against Venezuela on October 16 2007.

In June 2008 Independiente agreed to sell Denis to Italian team S.S.C. Napoli for a fee of 6.3 million euros..

On Germán Denis first appearance for the club, Germán Denis scored a hat-trick as Napoli ran out winners in a friendly against Austrian side Jennersdorf. Napoli beat Jennersdorf 10–0. Denis scored Germán Denis first official goal for Napoli against KS Vllaznia Shkodër in the UEFA Cup, on August 14, 2008. Germán Denis also scored once more in the UEFA Cup against S.L. Benfica. On October 29, Denis scored the first hat-trick of Germán Denis career in Serie A during Napoli's 3–0 victory over Reggina Calcio. With the arrival of new manager Roberto Donadoni, the latter started to prefer the Marcelo Zalayeta-Ezequiel Lavezzi striking partnership, reducing Denis's playing time.
