José Sosa

José Ernesto Sosa (born 19 June 1985) is an Argentina association football midfielder. José Sosa plays for FC Bayern Munich in the Fußball-Bundesliga.

Career

Sosa played for Estudiantes between 2002 and 2007. The undisputable highlight of José Sosa career to date was helping Estudiantes to win their first league title since 1983 by scoring the equalising goal from a free kick against Boca Juniors in the 2006 Apertura final playoff game.

After that game, José Sosa manager Diego Simeone recommended Sosa to S.S. Lazio, and it was hinted in the press that other European clubs were interested in Sosa. On 24 February 2007, a deal was announced between Estudiantes and FC Bayern Munich, and four days later, details of the transfer were disclosed: Estudiantes will receive €6 million plus ten percent of any future transfer. Sosa's contract is worth € 4.5 million over four years.

Sosa stayed with Estudiantes for the remainder of the 2006-2007 in Argentine football tournament.

International career

Sosa played for Argentina national under-20 football team team during the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship.

Argentina national football team coach Alfio Basile drafted Sosa for the national team on 28 February 2007. Sosa said to the press that José Sosa will "never forget this Tuesday" in which José Sosa achieved two of José Sosa childhood dreams (the transfer to a major European club and the call to the national team).

José Sosa made José Sosa debut as a substitute (86') at a friendly match against Mexico on 9 March 2005. José Sosa played José Sosa second match and as starter eleven against Chile, 18 April 2007.
