Jordi Codina Rodríguez (born April 27, 1982 in Barcelona, Catalonia) is a Spain football (soccer) currently playing for Getafe CF, as a Goalkeeper (association football).
Football career
Codina was a graduate of Real Madrid's youth system, but arrived at Real Madrid Castilla from the low categories of Barcelona's RCD Espanyol, joining in 2002. After the departure of Carlos Sánchez García and David Cobeño, Jordi Codina became the first-choice goalkeeper of the reserve side. Antonio Adán was the backup and Kiko Casilla third-choice, as Codina eventually gained Castilla's Captain (football).
Codina made Jordi Codina debut in Segunda División in the Segunda División 2005-06, against Sporting de Gijón. In the last of Jordi Codina five years with the B team, Jordi Codina played in 35 of 38 matches for a total of 3150 minutes.
At the start of La Liga 2007-08, Codina was promoted to Real Madrid's first team and served as third goalkeeper, after Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek. As Madrid were already crowned league champions, Codina made Jordi Codina first team debut and sole appearance for the club in the last match of the season on May 11, 2008, playing the entire match in a 5-2 home win against Levante UD.
On 2 July 2009, Codina moved to Getafe CF, also in Madrid, on a free transfer (soccer), signing a three-year contract.
