David Prieto Gálvez, Prieto (born 2 January 1983 in Seville), is a Spain football (soccer) Defender (football), currently playing with Sevilla FC .
A product of Sevilla FC's youth system, Prieto made his first team debut on February 6, 2005, playing a full match as his side won 3-0 at Levante UD. Playing 4 La Liga matches that season and adding another 4 La Liga 2005-06, he would alternate between the first and the Sevilla Atlético.
In 2006-07, as Sevilla Atlético reached the Segunda División of Spain football, Prieto served a loan in another side from Andalusia and the category, Xerez CD. The La Liga 2007-08, he would play 8 first division matches with Sevilla (seven starts), due to the absences of Javi Navarro (knee, entire season missed) and Julien Escudé (pubis (bone), less than half of possible games), as the team finished fifth and gained a UEFA Cup spot.
After the death of Antonio Puerta in the fall of 2007, Sevilla wanted to Retired numbers in football (soccer) the player's number 16 shirt. Due to the Spanish league's strict rules on squad registration a retirement was impossible, and Puerta's shirt number was handed to Prieto, something he took great pride in.
