Mario Suárez Mata, Suárez (born 24 February 1987 in Alcobendas, Madrid), is a Spain Football (soccer) who currently plays for RCD Mallorca, as a defensive midfielder.
Club career
A product of Atlético de Madrid's youth system, Suárez first appeared with the first team on November 6, 2005, playing 4 minutes in a 0-0 draw at Sevilla FC. He went on to make a further 3 appearances (including two 90 minute matches).
From 2006-08, Suárez served two Segunda División stints, being an important element in Real Valladolid's Segunda División 2006-07, subsequently spending 2007-08 at Real Club Celta de Vigo.
In August 2008, he was purchased by RCD Mallorca, signing a four-year deal that left Atlético the possibility of reacquiring the player.
International career
Suárez played for Spain national under-21 football team in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada. He scored a penalty kick in the match against Zambia national under-21 football team, in a 2-1 win.
