Tomáš Ujfaluši (born March 24, 1978 in Rýmařov) is a Czech Republic football (soccer) defender (football), who is signed to Spanish club Atlético Madrid in the Spanish La Liga. He is married to former Miss Czech Republic, Kateřina Ujfaluši.

Tomás Ujfalusi biography


Tomáš Ujfaluši (born March 24, 1978 in Rýmařov) is a Czech Republic football (soccer) defender (football), who is signed to Spanish club Atlético Madrid in the Spanish La Liga. He is married to former Miss Czech Republic, Kateřina Ujfaluši.

Previously, Ujfaluši was with SK Sigma Olomouc (1997-2000), Hamburger SV (2001-04) and AC Fiorentina (2004-2008).

He played for the Czech Republic national football team at the 2004 European Football Championship, 2006 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2008. In this last championship he was named man of the game in the first game of the championship against Switzerland.

The Czech captain usually stars as a centre-back for his national team, in 2005-06 with Fiorentina he was mainly deployed as a right-back by coach Cesare Prandelli.
