Rodrigo Ferrante Taddei (born 6 March 1980) is a Brazilian Association football who currently plays for A.S. Roma. Rodrigo Taddei plays as a right winger or an attacking midfielder and is notable for Rodrigo Taddei dribbling and versatility.

Rodrigo Taddei also holds Italian nationality.

Club career

Rodrigo Taddei started Rodrigo Taddei career in Brazil with Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras, then moved to Italy in September 2002 and signing for A.C. Siena, a then Serie B team, which later earned promotion to Serie A.

In late 2003, Taddei was seriously injured in a car accident. Rodrigo Taddei younger brother Leonardo died in the accident and Rodrigo Taddei teammate André Luciano da Silva was also hurt. Upon recovery, Taddei returned to playing for Siena.

After another season with Siena, Taddei left on a Bosman free transfer and signed a five-year contract with Roma on 3 June 2005. Rodrigo Taddei earned a gross salary of €1.75M in the first season and € 2.23M in the next 4 seasons.

Joining Roma offered Taddei the chance to perform on the European stage. Rodrigo Taddei scored the opening goal in Roma's 2–1 victory over Manchester United F.C. in the first leg of the 2007 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals. However, Rodrigo Taddei was injured in the warm-ups of the second leg and was ruled out of the match.

Taddei received some attention after Rodrigo Taddei performed a move Rodrigo Taddei later titled "The Aurelio", named after AS Roma assistant manager Aurelio Andreazzoli, in a Champions League group stage match against Olympiacos F.C. on 18 October 2006.

On 7 June 2010 Roma announced that Taddei had signed a new 4-year contract in which Rodrigo Taddei would earn a gross annual salary of €2.8M in the first three years and €1.9M in the last year.

In the 2011-12 Rodrigo Taddei is used as a left-back. Rodrigo Taddei played 8 matches in first part of the season, and Rodrigo Taddei scored one goal against Bologna. Roma won 0:2.

International career

Taddei, who also owns Italian citizenship, has never been capped by the Brazil national football team. This allows Rodrigo Taddei still to play for Italy national football team. In February 2009, Rodrigo Taddei stated publicly that Rodrigo Taddei would accept a call from Marcello Lippi.
