Iván Córdoba

Iván Ramiro Córdoba Sepúlveda (born August 11, 1976 in Medellín, Antioquia Department) is a Colombian Association football player.

Club career

Iván Córdoba made Iván Córdoba name playing for Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro in Primera División Argentina but signed for Serie A side F.C. Internazionale Milano in the winter transfer window, January 2000, costing the club 16 million Euros, rejecting another offer from Real Madrid C.F. in doing so.

Naturally a central defender (association football) and world rated man-marker, Iván Córdoba is athletic and relies mostly on Iván Córdoba world class pace and reliable timing. Despite being only 173 cm tall, Iván Córdoba is a good header of the ball, good jumper and often scores goals with Iván Córdoba head. Cordoba is also a versatile defender. Iván Córdoba sometimes plays as right back and has even filled the left back position.

International career

Iván Córdoba captained the Colombia national football team to win the competition, scoring the only goal in the final. Cordoba also played for Iván Córdoba country in the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Cordoba holds an Italian passport due to Iván Córdoba long stay in Italy.
