Peter Holmes

Peter James Holmes (born 18 November 1980) is an English association football who plays for Rotherham United F.C. as a midfielder.
Career
Holmes started his career at Sheffield Wednesday F.C. and was there for two years as a trainee, but moved to Luton Town F.C. to help start his career. With Mike Newell (footballer)'s trust, Holmes has played for Luton for over 50 times in five years. Injury has beriddled his career but he was a regular first team player in the 2005-06 season.
In January 2007 he joined Football League One team Chesterfield F.C. on loan a month, and then in March, he joined Lincoln City F.C. on loan for the same duration of time. On 8 May 2007 Luton released Holmes after nearly seven years with the club and he signed for Rotherham United F.C. on 14 June. He scored his first goal for the team with a 30 yard shot against Notts County F.C.. He joined York City F.C. in the Conference National on a month's loan in September 2008 and made his debut a day later in a 2–0 defeat to Kidderminster Harriers F.C.. He scored for the team in the following game, which finished as a 3–3 draw with Stevenage Borough F.C.. He suffered from a hip injury, which resulted him in missing York's 3–1 defeat against Wrexham F.C.. He returned to Rotherham after being recalled by the club and played his final game in the 2–0 victory against Rushden & Diamonds F.C., finishing the loan spell with five appearances and one goal.
