Solomon Sebastian "Sol" Davis (born 4 September 1979 in Bath, Somerset, Somerset) is an England Association football currently playing for Luton Town F.C..
Career
Davis is a tough tackling left back who played over 130 times for Swindon Town F.C. before being transferred to Luton Town in August 2002 and bought by then manager Joe Kinnear.
A much loved player at Kenilworth Road by the players and supporters, he was named Players' Player of the Year following the club's League One championship campaign in 2004–05 in which Davis scored twice - his first ever goals in professional football (against Wrexham A.F.C. and Bristol City F.C.).
Luton supporters sing "We've got Sol" to the tune of Gold by Spandau Ballet.
Davis joined League Two side Peterborough United F.C. on a two-month loan on 24 September, 2007, but returned to Luton in October, due to injury.
Davis found himself out of favour with new boss Kevin Blackwell, and was transfer listed in the summer of 2007, and subsequently listed as injured. After Blackwell's departure, Davis was immediately recalled to the side by Mick Harford.
Stroke
On Saturday, October 28, 2006, it was revealed that Davis had suffered a stroke whilst traveling to his team's match at Ipswich Town F.C. on the next day. He was taken into the specialist unit at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.
