Seip made his debut for Dutch club BV Veendam in 1999, and enjoyed a two-year spell with the club, before being signed by established Eredivisie club SC Heerenveen in 2001. He really made his break-through in the first team at the start of the 2003/04 season, appearing for the club regularly in domestic and European competition for the next three-years, scoring two goals in the process. His contract expired during the summer of 2006. After an unsuccessful trial with Football in Russia club FC Spartak Moscow, Seip joined Football in England club Plymouth Argyle F.C., initially on a three-month contract.
Seip made his debut for Argyle on 16 September 2006, as a first half substitute at St Mary's Stadium, against Southampton F.C.. His first goal coincided with his first start at home against Norwich City F.C. on 23 September 2006.
In November 2006, Seip agreed to a three-year contract, tying him to the club until the summer of 2009. Seip's impressive displays made him an ever present in the starting line-up, as he made 42 league and cup appearances, and scored two goals, in only his first season.
On 5 April 2008, Seip refused to be a substitute in a league fixture against Charlton Athletic F.C., after having made four successive starts. He was subsequently fined two weeks wages, and placed on the Transfer Market, by manager Paul Sturrock.
On 4 July, Seip apologised to manager Paul Sturrock and his team mates over the Charlton Athletic affair. As a result, the club removed him from the transfer list.
