Luke Chadwick

Luke Harry Chadwick (born 18 November 1980 in Cambridge) is an England association football, currently playing for MK Dons. Luke Chadwick favoured position is on the right side of midfield, but Luke Chadwick can also operate on the left flank or behind the front two.

Luke Harry Chadwick (born 18 November 1980 in Cambridge) is an England association football, currently playing for MK Dons. Luke Chadwick favoured position is on the right side of midfield, but Luke Chadwick can also operate on the left flank or behind the front two.

Club career

Manchester United

Chadwick came up through the Manchester United F.C. youth system; the majority of Luke Chadwick appearances for Manchester United at senior level were in Football League Cup matches or against lower profile teams in the Premier League. Luke Chadwick scored two league goals for Manchester United, one against Bradford in January 2001 and the other against Leeds in March 2001.

Luke Chadwick was loaned to Belgian side Royal Antwerp FC for the entire 1999–2000 season, winning the league in the process. This was later followed by loan spells at Reading F.C., where Luke Chadwick scored once against Gillingham, and Burnley F.C..

Chadwick made enough appearances in the 2000-01 in English football to qualify for a Premier League winners medal. The following season Chadwick's appearances were more limited although Luke Chadwick still played in 9 league games and also made appearances in the League Cup. The season that followed saw Chadwick struggle to get back into the first team like the previous two years, as Luke Chadwick only managed a handful of appearances in all competitions.

West Ham United

Chadwick joined West Ham United F.C. on a free transfer at the beginning of the 2004–05 in English football season. In Luke Chadwick season at West Ham Luke Chadwick scored once in the league, against Leeds.

Stoke City

Chadwick joined Stoke City F.C. on loan at the start of the 2005–06 in English football season. Luke Chadwick made Luke Chadwick Stoke City debut against Sheffield Wednesday F.C. on the 6th August 2005. Chadwick's impressive performances lead to a permanent deal in January 2006 with Stoke paying £100,000 for Luke Chadwick services. Chadwick's subsequent performances earned Luke Chadwick many fan (person)s at Stoke City. Chadwick's goal in the F.A Cup Fourth Round against Walsall F.C. was voted goal of the round in 2006. The following season did not start off very well for Chadwick as in the opening match of the season against Southend United F.C., Chadwick fainted and was taken to hospital. It was later revealed that Luke Chadwick was only dehydrated.

On 27 June 2006, Norwich City F.C. manager Nigel Worthington confirmed that Luke Chadwick was interested in signing Chadwick from Stoke, but Stoke City rejected Norwich's approach for the player.

Norwich City

On 13 November 2006, Worthington's replacement, Peter Grant (footballer), signed Chadwick, initially on loan, with a view to a permanent deal in January 2007. The proposed fee was £220,000, with an additional £100,000 if Chadwick helps the Canaries gain promotion.

Chadwick immediately made an impact at Carrow Road by scoring on Luke Chadwick debut against arch rivals Ipswich Town F.C.. Luke Chadwick was injured in the latter stages of that game, and the injury kept Luke Chadwick out for most of the remainder of the season.

On 3 January 2007 Chadwick signed a 2 and a half year deal for Norwich City.

Chadwick made Luke Chadwick long awaited comeback from injury as a substitute in the 1–0 win over Birmingham City F.C. on 13 March 2007, and also featured in another 1–0 victory over Stoke City F.C. on 17 March 2007 as Luke Chadwick attempted to regain match fitness. Luke Chadwick injury problems, however, continued into the following season as Luke Chadwick struggled for fitness.

By the beginning of the 2007–08 season, Luke Chadwick had accumulated over 200 league appearances and scored more than 20 league goals.

MK Dons

On 4 October 2008, Chadwick made Luke Chadwick MK Dons debut in their 4–0 hammering of Millwall after joining the League One club on an initial three-month loan from Norwich City on 1 October 2008. On 18 October 2008, Chadwick scored Luke Chadwick first goal for the Dons, equalising late on to secure a 2–2 draw against Crewe Alexandra F.C.. Luke Chadwick then scored a brace for the Dons in the 2–1 away victory over Leyton Orient F.C.. Shortly after, Luke Chadwick picked up an injury and returned from Luke Chadwick loan early. On Wednesday 31 December 2008, Chadwick joined the Dons on a two and a half year deal, starting 1 January 2009. At the end of the 2009/10 season Chadwick was voted the MK Dons Player of the Season. Luke Chadwick won the award for the second year running at the end of the 2010/11 season.
