Adrian "Aidy" Joseph Mariappa (born 3 October 1986 in Harrow, London) is an England central Defender (football), currently playing for Watford F.C..
A former Academy side captain and reserve team regular, Mariappa made his first team debut in a Football League Cup match against Notts County on 23 August 2005. He made another cup start against Wigan Athletic F.C. in the 3rd round. During the 2005-06 in English football season he made three league appearances, including a clean-sheet in his first league start against Hull City F.C. on the final day of the 2005–06 Football League Championship season.
Watford started their 2006-07 in English football Premier League campaign at Everton F.C., with Mariappa starting in central defence in place of first-team regular Jay DeMerit. He was substituted at half-time, and, aside from a League Cup appearance against Accrington Stanley F.C., did not make another first-team appearance until December 2006. On 16 December 2007 away at Newcastle United F.C. he came on for the injured James Chambers (English footballer) at right-back. He started the next game against Liverpool F.C., and was a regular in the position for the remainder of the season.
With Watford back in the Championship for 2007-08 in English football, Mariappa has found himself largely on the substitute bench, with Lloyd Doyley started every 2007 league match at right-back.
