Playing career
Sheffield United
Coming through the youth ranks at Bramall Lane, Montgomery made his debut at Carrow Road against Norwich City F.C. on October 21 2000. He has now established himself as a regular in the first team with more than 200 League and Cup appearances for the Blades. He scored his first goal for the club in a 4-0 home defeat of Birmingham City F.C. in November 2001.
Nick was an integral member of the 2005/06 squad that saw the Blades being promoted back to the FA Premier League. As a result of his hard work over the season he was runner-up to Phil Jagielka in the club's Player of Year awards.
International career
Despite being born in Leeds, Nick Montgomery is eligible to play for Scotland national football team and featured for the Scotland U21 side in 2003. He made his debut in a 1-0 victory over Austria national football team on 29th April and his second and last appearance in another 1-0 victory, this time over Croatia national football team on 18 November of that year. He subsequently appeared for a team of Scotland Futures in 2005, featuring in a 2-0 defeat of Poland national football team in December.
