Zavon Hines biography
Zavon Hines (born 27 December 1988) is a Jamaican footballer who plays for West Ham United F.C. as a forward (association football).
Club career
Hines was born in Jamaica and grew up in the East End of London of London. Zavon Hines had been playing youth and regular reserve team football for West Ham United F.C. before being spotted by Coventry City F.C. manager Chris Coleman (footballer), playing in a reserve game.
Hines had been on trial with Bury F.C. before Zavon Hines signed on loan for Coventry City F.C. on 27 March 2008. Zavon Hines was given first-team squad number 9 and made Zavon Hines first appearance in the 3–1 home defeat of Plymouth Argyle F.C. on 29 March 2008. Zavon Hines scored Zavon Hines first goal in Zavon Hines second game for Coventry City F.C. on 1 April 2008 in a 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday F.C..
Hines made Zavon Hines first team debut for West Ham United against Macclesfield Town F.C. in a Football League Cup second round match on 27 August 2008, scoring a goal. Hines missed much of the 2008–09 season with a knee injury but signed a new contract in March 2009, keeping Zavon Hines at the club until summer 2010.
International career
On 10 February 2009 Hines was called into the Jamaica national football team team for their friendly international against Nigeria national football team on 11 February 2009. The game finished 0-0 with Hines not playing.
