Péter Gulácsi

Péter Gulácsi (; born 6 May 1990) is a Hungarian association football who plays for Hull City A.F.C. as a goalkeeper (association football), on loan (sports) from Liverpool F.C.. Péter Gulácsi was signed by Liverpool on the summer transfer deadline 2008, from MTK Budapest FC, after Péter Gulácsi had spent the 2007–08 season on loan with the club.

Péter Gulácsi (; born 6 May 1990) is a Hungarian association football who plays for Hull City A.F.C. as a goalkeeper (association football), on loan (sports) from Liverpool F.C.. Péter Gulácsi was signed by Liverpool on the summer transfer deadline 2008, from MTK Budapest FC, after Péter Gulácsi had spent the 2007–08 season on loan with the club.

Gulácsi is the third person to sign for Liverpool from MTK Budapest FC with previous signings András Simon, now with SBV Excelsior and Krisztián Németh now playing Péter Gulácsi football at Olympiacos FC.

Club career

Liverpool

Liverpool F.C. signed Gulácsi from MTK Budapest FC on a one-year loan (sports) in 2007, with the player competing in the treble winning reserve team. Liverpool had an option to buy Péter Gulácsi at the end of this loan deal, which they exercised on the last day of the transfer window, 1 September 2008.

On the 29 July and 5 August 2010, Péter Gulácsi was the substitute goalkeeper in both of Liverpool's UEFA Europa League ties against FK Rabotnički, with Liverpool F.C. winning 2–0 on both occasions. Péter Gulácsi also found himself on the bench on 26 August in Liverpool's Europa League tie against Trabzonspor. Péter Gulácsi has been a frequent presence on the subs bench in January 2011, with Brad Jones away at the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. With Jones still away at the AFC Cup, Gulacsi was the substitute keeper for their 1–0 Premier League win over Chelsea F.C. at Stamford Bridge (stadium). Gulacsi retained Péter Gulácsi spot as back-up to Pepe Reina after Brad Jones returned from international duty, with the Aussie 'keeper going to Derby County on a loan transfer in March 2011.

In the 2009 January transfer window, Péter Gulácsi was loaned to Hereford United F.C., where Péter Gulácsi made Péter Gulácsi league debut. Péter Gulácsi went on to make 18 league appearances for the club.

On 16 April 2010, Gulácsi joined Tranmere Rovers on an emergency seven day loan deal and made Péter Gulácsi debut for the club on 17 April against Exeter City F.C. in a 3–1 win for Tranmere. Péter Gulácsi loan was subsequently extended for an additional seven days and into a third week.

Péter Gulácsi re-joined Rovers on a one-month emergency loan on 17 September 2010 after Tranmere's two experienced goalkeepers Gunnar Nielsen (footballer) and Simon Miotto were ruled out with injuries Péter Gulácsi loan period was extended into a second month until 24 November 2010.

Hull City

On 19 July 2011, Péter Gulácsi signed a new contract with Liverpool and joined Football League Championship team Hull City A.F.C. in a year-long loan move. Péter Gulácsi made Péter Gulácsi full debut for Hull in a start of the season clash against recently relegated Blackpool F.C. at the KC Stadium.

Péter Gulácsi received a knee injury in a 1–0 defeat at Burnley F.C. on 31 December 2011 and was substituted by Adriano Basso on the 42nd minute mark, shortly after conceding a goal, scored by Martin Paterson, as a result of a defensive mix-up with Jack Hobbs (footballer). Following the injury, Gulácsi returned to Liverpool for a scan on Péter Gulácsi knee.

International career

In May 2008, Péter Gulácsi received Péter Gulácsi first call up for Hungary national football team and was an unused substitute in their 1–1 draw with Croatia.

Péter Gulacsi was Hungary's hero against the Czech Republic national under-21 football team in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in the penalty shootouts. In the third place match between Hungary and Costa Rica at 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Péter Gulácsi saved three penalties during penalty shoot-out leading Péter Gulácsi team to victory and bronze medals.
