Michael Ian Mancienne (born 8 January 1988) is an English Association football who plays for Chelsea F.C. as a defender (association football).
Primarily a Defender (association football) Center back, though also able to play at Defender (association football) Full back, Michael Mancienne is already an established England national under-21 football team player. Michael Mancienne received Michael Mancienne first call-up for the England national football team in November 2008, ahead of a friendly against Germany national football team.
Club career
Mancienne was spotted by Chelsea F.C. as a 9-year-old playing for Kingstonian F.C., and debuted for the Chelsea Reserves while still at school. Michael Mancienne signed a professional contract in January 2006, and was called onto the bench for the final match of the 2005–06 in English football but was unused.
Michael Mancienne was part of Chelsea's pre-season tour of the United States in Summer 2006 and started the season again with a place on the bench; in the 2006 FA Community Shield against Liverpool F.C. and the first two Premier League games of the FA Premier League 2006-07 against Manchester City F.C. and Blackburn Rovers F.C..
Unable to gain playing time at Stamford Bridge (stadium), Mancienne gained Michael Mancienne first taste of league football in a loan spell at Queens Park Rangers F.C.. Michael Mancienne played most of Michael Mancienne 28 games for the Football League Championship side at right back, but also played a few times in Michael Mancienne preferred centre back position. Michael Mancienne impressive displays made Michael Mancienne popular with the QPR fans, who voted Michael Mancienne runner-up in the Supporters' Young Player of the Year.
After signing a new contract with the Blues that will keep Michael Mancienne at the club until 2010, Michael Mancienne agreed to remain on loan at QPR for the 2007–08 in English football.
On 27 October 2008, Michael Mancienne found the chance to gain playing time when Michael Mancienne joined Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. on loan initially until 29 December 2008. Mancienne made Michael Mancienne debut in Wolves' 2-1 win over Swansea City A.F.C. the next day, replacing Carlos Edwards as an 81st minute substitute. Michael Mancienne first starting appearance for Wolves came in the 2-1 away victory at Ninian Park against Cardiff City F.C. in which Michael Mancienne was Man of the Match. Michael Mancienne performances caused Wolves to extend Michael Mancienne loan until 29 January 2009, however, the paperwork on the extension was never completed, and Michael Mancienne was recalled by Michael Mancienne parent club on 2 January.
Michael Mancienne made Michael Mancienne first team debut and start for Chelsea on 14 February against Watford F.C. in the FA Cup.
Michael Mancienne also made an appearance in the dying minutes of Chelsea's Champion's League Round of 16 home game against Juventus F.C., which ended 1-0 to Chelsea. Michael Mancienne came on in place of Michael Ballack in the 80th minute. Michael Mancienne played very well to deny Pavel Nedved, Amauri and Alessandro Del Piero late goals and ensuring Chelsea won the first leg 1-0 at home.
Mancienne finally made Michael Mancienne Premiership debut on the 28th of February 2009 in a 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic. Michael Mancienne kept a clean sheet in that match, as the goal was conceded soon after Mancienne was substituted.
Michael Mancienne made Michael Mancienne second start against West Ham United at Boleyn Ground and kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win, but was subbed off with seven minutes to go for Ballack to come on.
At the end of the 2008-2009 season, Mancienne was voted Chelsea's Young Player of the Year.
International career
Mancienne rejected the chance to play for the Seychelles Seychelles national football team in 2006 in favour of Michael Mancienne native England national football team. Michael Mancienne was eligible to play for the Seychelles as Michael Mancienne father, Michael Snr, originates from there.
On 15 November 2008, Fabio Capello surprisingly named Mancienne in the England squad to play an international friendly match against Germany national football team in Berlin.
On June 8 2009, Michael Mancienne got Michael Mancienne first ever goal for England in an Under 21 match against Azerbaijan.
On June 15 2009, Mancienne received Michael Mancienne first international red card (football) in an U21 European Championships group match against Finland for a foul in the penalty area.
