Kieran Lee

Kieran Lee (born June 22, 1988 in Tameside, England) is a full-back and captain of Manchester United's reserve team. A central midfielder earlier in his career, during the 2005-2006 season, the versatile Lee became a regular for the reserve team being deployed at left back although in the 06/07 season Lee has mainly played at right back. He attended West Hill School in Stalybridge.

Just three days after signing a new two year contract at United, Kieran was given his first taste of first team football when he came on as a second half substitute at Old Trafford (football ground) against Celtic F.C. in Roy Keane's testimonial.

During 2006-07 in English football pre-season, Kieran made two appearances for the Manchester United first team, coming on as substitute in the 2-1 defeat to Preston North End F.C. and playing the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 victory over Macclesfield Town F.C..

Lee was rewarded for some fine performances in the Reserve Team by being handed the captain's armband at that level and went on to make his competitive first team début on October 25, 2006 against Crewe Alexandra in the Football League Cup a game in which he scored a late winner two minutes before the end of extra time to hand United a 2-1 win. He made his full Premiership debut, playing right back, in the match at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea F.C. on May 9 2007.

To cap a fine 2006/07 season Lee won the prestigious Manchester United Reserve Team Player of the Year 06/07 award.
