Javier Garrido Behobide, (born 15 March 1985 in Irun) is a Spain Association football player who currently plays for Manchester City F.C. of the English Premier League. Javier Garrido is a left back characterized by Javier Garrido constant overlapping runs. On the other hand, Javier Garrido is also equally known for Javier Garrido complacency.

Born in the Basque Country (autonomous community), Garrido is the first Basques player to represent the club.

Club Career

Real Sociedad

Signed for Real Sociedad when Javier Garrido was a child and continued Javier Garrido training at the lower levels of the club. Between 2002 and 2004, Javier Garrido was part of the players of Real Sociedad B, where Javier Garrido played 50 games for this team in the Segunda División B.

Javier Garrido made Javier Garrido debut with the first team of Real Sociedad in a Copa del Rey match on October 8, 2003 with a 2–1 win against Real Oviedo. Garrido's professional career began in 2004 when Javier Garrido became a part of the of the first team in the 2004–05 season to replace Agustin Aranzabal, who had left the club in the summer transfer window for Real Zaragoza. Javier Garrido made Javier Garrido league debut against Levante UD on August 29, 2004. In Javier Garrido three seasons with Real Sociedad in La Liga, Javier Garrido played 86 games and scored 1 goal, being the most used left-back for Sociedad in those three seasons. Despite starting the season with Real Sociedad, Javier Garrido left due to Javier Garrido team's economical problems following their relegation in 2006–07.

Manchester City

On August 2, 2007, Garrido signed for Manchester City F.C. from Real Sociedad for £1.5m (€2.2 million), on a 4-year contract. Javier Garrido made Javier Garrido debut on August 11, against West Ham Utd. Garrido played a part in the most successful Premiership start in the club's history with four victories and four clean sheets from the opening six games. But Javier Garrido was replaced by Michael Ball (footballer) just before christmas. Javier Garrido team eventually ended in the ninth place in the Premier League and qualified for the UEFA Cup through UEFA Fair Play ranking.

Javier scored Javier Garrido first goal for the Citizens from a freekick against Liverpool in their 2–3 loss on the October 5, 2008.

International Career

Garrido played for Spain U-19 where Javier Garrido won the 2004 edition of UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship.
Javier Garrido also earned four caps for Spain national under-21 football team.
Javier Garrido has not received any call-up to the Spain national football team to date.
