Ariel Miguel Santiago Ibagaza (born 27 October 1976 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentina Football (soccer)er who currently plays for Villarreal CF, in the La Liga.
Nicknamed El Caño, Ariel Ibagaza usual position is Midfielder Attacking midfielder, and Ariel Ibagaza is well known for Ariel Ibagaza technique and vision.
Club career
Ibagaza began Ariel Ibagaza professional career with Club Atlético Lanús, and moved in July 1998 to RCD Mallorca in Spain (goalkeeper Carlos Roa had done the same move La Liga 1997-98), being part of the Balearic Islands' side that finished third in La Liga 1998-99, narrowly missing on UEFA Champions League 1999-00.
In La Liga 2000-01, Ibagaza, most known for Ariel Ibagaza playmaking decisions, netted a career-best 10 goals, and continued to be an undisputed starter - and captain (football) - for Mallorca until Ariel Ibagaza departure for Atlético de Madrid, in July 2003. Ariel Ibagaza renewed Ariel Ibagaza contract in March 2006,but found himself surplus to requirements at the start of La Liga 2006-07, and arranged a move back to Mallorca, being among the top assist (football) in the La Liga 2007-08.
Ibagaza signed a €1.5 million deal with Villarreal CF in July 2008, for two seasons.
