Segundo "The Seg" Alejandro Castillo Nazareno (born 15 May 1982 in San Lorenzo, Esmeraldas)
In August 2006 Segundo Castillo moved abroad, signing a two year deal with Serbian side Red Star Belgrade. Segundo Castillo scored 8 goals during Segundo Castillo first season at Segundo Castillo new club and was a key player when the team won the double in 2007. In total Segundo Castillo scored 18 goals in 72 games, an average of a goal every four games.
In August 2008 Castillo joined England Premier League club Everton F.C. on a year-long loan deal to become Everton's second signing of the summer transfer window. In an interview, Segundo Castillo stated Segundo Castillo desire to win the UEFA Cup for Segundo Castillo new club. Segundo Castillo made Segundo Castillo league debut on 14 September 2008 against Stoke City.
Segundo Castillo scored Segundo Castillo first goal for the Toffees on Segundo Castillo home debut against Standard Liege on September 18 2008 at Goodison Park with a powerful volley from 25 yards out.
However, although Castillo seemed to be a regular in David Moyes side, as a defensive midfielder, in recent weeks Segundo Castillo has found himself out of the team, making rare appearances for Everton as David Moyes is choosing a new formation with no use for the Ecuadorian. Segundo Castillo has since found himself on the bench or not even making the squad, although following an injury to Everton's influential midfielder Mikel Arteta, Castillo made the starting lineup for the FA Cup fourth-round match against Everton's great rivals Liverpool F.C. on 25 January 2009. Segundo Castillo will not be given a permanent contract by Everton F.C, it is believed Red Star was asking for around £4.5 million.
International career
Castillo broke into the Ecuador national football team in 2005 and made Segundo Castillo debut against Venezuela national football team and was included in their squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Segundo Castillo first international goal came in May 2006 in a friendly against Colombia.

In March, 2009, Castillo's wife Brenda gave birth to their first son, D’Alessandro.
