Steven Istead (born 23 April 1986 in South Shields) is an England association football who is currently without a club after leaving Scottish club .
He began his career with but left without making a first-team appearance, signing for in 2002. He held the record for the youngest player to ever play for Hartlepool United until it was beaten in 2004 by striker David Foley. After his release from Hartlepool in 2006, he played for non-league clubs and Consett A.F.C.. He signed for Peterhead in 2007, where his former boss Neale Cooper was coach.
