Javi Rodríguez Venta

Javier 'Javi' Rodríguez Venta (born 13 December 1975 in Oviedo, Asturias) is a Spain Association football who currently plays for Villarreal CF, as a Defender (football) Full back.

Club career

After playing Javi Rodríguez Venta early career with modest Spain outfits, Venta was bought in 1999 by Villarreal CF, but would spend the next three seasons with the B-team (CD Onda) and on loan stints (he made Javi Rodríguez Venta La Liga debut in La Liga 2001-02, appearing in 29 league contests for CD Tenerife, who ranked second from bottom).

In La Liga 2002-03, Venta returned to Villarreal, and went on to become a steady first-choice throughout the seasons. In La Liga 2004-05, as the Valencian Community side achieved a then club-high third league place, Javi Rodríguez Venta appeared in 32 league matches. Javi Rodríguez Venta was subsequently named by Spain national football team manager Luis Aragonés in Javi Rodríguez Venta provisional 27-man squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, but would not make the final cut.
