Carlos Diogo biography
Carlos Andres Diogo Enceñat (born July 18, 1983 in Montevideo) is an Uruguayan football (soccer) player, who currently plays for Real Zaragoza in La Liga.
He was previously with River Plate Montevideo of Uruguay (1999-03), C.A. Peñarol (2003-04) and Club Atlético River Plate of Argentina (2004-05).
Son of one of the best Uruguayan soccer players, Carlos Diogo, also played in Peñarol, and several Brazilian soccer clubs. In the summer of 2005, Diogo signed with European Real Madrid C.F., with first team opportunities being scarce. On 23 August 2006, the many rumours of Diogo leaving Madrid came true when Real decided to send him out on loan to the highly interested Real Zaragoza for an undisclosed fee.
In January 6, 2007, he had a fight with player Luís Fabiano of Sevilla FC because he stepped on the Brazilian's hand and insulted him, and put in a strangle-hold in the closing stages of the game. This incident led to a five game ban to Diogo and his Sevillan fellow player.
He played for Uruguay_national_football_team in Copa América 2007
In 2007 he signed a contract with Zaragoza that will see Zaragoza pay €4 million. But Madrid agreed to take just €3 million because they put a clause in his contract that enables Real Madrid to get all the money payed for Zaragoza for him if a top class team like Barcelona Manchester United and Milan are interested in bidding for his services.
