Juan Valera Espín (born December 21, 1984 in Murcia) is a Spain Association football who currently plays for Atlético Madrid, in the La Liga.

Juan Valera operates as a midfielder or Defender (association football), on the right side of the pitch.

Football career

Valera made Juan Valera professional debut at hometown Real Murcia, and first played in La Liga in 2003–04 La Liga (10 matches). In 2005–06, Juan Valera moved to Atlético de Madrid, where Juan Valera progression was marred by injuries. On February 25, 2006, Valera netted twice as a Substitute (association football), in a 5–0 home rout of Málaga CF.

On September 1, 2008, Valera agreed to a one-year loan at Racing de Santander. On October 5, Juan Valera netted Juan Valera first goal for the Cantabrians, in a 1–0 win at CA Osasuna (Last-minute goal). In December, Juan Valera also netted in an insufficient 3–1 2008–09 UEFA Cup triumph over Manchester City F.C..
