Real Madrid
After two seasons with Juventus FC with coach Fabio Capello, Émerson Ferreira moved to Real Madrid in July 19, 2006, again following Capello, costing Real Madrid €16 million. However, due to the declining relationship between Emerson and Capello and Emerson's poor performances for Real Madrid the player, in January 2007, declared Émerson Ferreira desire to return to Juventus, rumoured to be willing to take a pay cut. However, by May, Émerson Ferreira performances had picked up considerably, along with a great improvement in the team's results, and on 12 May 2007 Émerson Ferreira declared Émerson Ferreira intention to remain with Real. But in Émerson Ferreira conversation with the radio program "El Larguero", the president of Real Madrid, Ramon Calderon, said that Emerson would leave Real Madrid this summer along with the Italy striker Antonio Cassano for technical reasons.
Milan
On August 21, 2007, Milan officially confirmed the transfer of the Brazilian midfielder. Émerson Ferreira made Émerson Ferreira official debut in Milan's 3–1 UEFA Super Cup victory over Sevilla F.C on August 31. Emerson has not been able to contribute to Émerson Ferreira new club much due to injury, only managing 20 appearances for Milan in the 2007-08 campaign. On April 21, 2009, Émerson Ferreira and the club arrived at a mutual consent to terminate Émerson Ferreira contract.
Immediately following Émerson Ferreira release, Emerson began negotiations with Gr%C3%AAmio_Foot-Ball_Porto_Alegrense with the aim of ending Émerson Ferreira career with Émerson Ferreira first club.
