Francesco Bolzoni (born on May 7, 1989 in Lodi, Italy) is an Italians Association football who plays for Serie A club Genoa C.F.C..

Club career

Bolzoni started out at San Colombano al Lambro before joining Inter's academy. Bolzoni has played for every academy team from the Esordienti (under-13) to the F.C. Internazionale Milano Primavera (under-20).

During the season 2006-2007, Bolzoni was part of the winning side, when F.C. Internazionale Milano Primavera won the Trofeo Giacinto Facchetti (under-20 Italian Championship).

Francesco Bolzoni made Francesco Bolzoni first-team debut on February 1 2007, playing 26 minutes of the Tim Cup (Italian Cup) semi-final return leg against U.C. Sampdoria at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

On September 19 2007, Bolzoni, alongside with Esposito and Gabriele Puccio, was selected for the first time in the 20 man squad for the UEFA Champions League match against Fenerbahçe S.K.. However Francesco Bolzoni failed to make Francesco Bolzoni debut in the UEFA Champions League, on that day. In the following match against PSV Eindhoven Francesco Bolzoni came on as a substitute for Santiago Solari in the 70th minute, making Francesco Bolzoni first UEFA Champions League appearance.

On December 12 2007, during an away match against PSV Eindhoven, Bolzoni started Francesco Bolzoni first UEFA Champions League match, and also played the whole 90 minutes. The game ended in 1-0 win for Internazionale.

Francesco Bolzoni has renewed Francesco Bolzoni contract with the club until 30 June 2012.

On May 24 2009, in a match against Cagliari Calcio Francesco Bolzoni made Francesco Bolzoni Serie A debut for Inter coming in as substitute for Cristian Chivu.

On July 1 2009 it was announced that Bolzoni had signed for Genoa C.F.C. as part of the deal that saw Thiago Motta sign for F.C. Internazionale Milano.

International career

Francesco Bolzoni was called up by Francesco Rocca to take part in Italy's Under-18 training camp, which took place at the Borghesiana training facility in Rome from the 26 to November 29, 2006.

On October 5 2007 Pierluigi Casiraghi called up Francesco Bolzoni, alongside with teammate Enrico Alfonso, to form part of the Italy national under-21 football team. The national side will be involved in the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualification matches against Croatia national under-21 football team and Greece national under-21 football team.

On November 21 2007, although still 18 years old, Bolzoni made Francesco Bolzoni first appearance in the Italy national under-21 football team shirt, where Francesco Bolzoni played the second half of the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship qualification match against Faroe Islands national under-21 football team, where Francesco Bolzoni came on as a substitute for Gabriele Paonessa. Italy U-21 won the game with the score of 1-0.

On December 3 2007, Francesco Bolzoni, alongside with teammate Enrico Alfonso was called up to Italy U-20 football team to take part in the Four Nations tournament match against Germany.
