Sammy Adjei
Sammy Adjei (born September 1 1980) is a Ghanaian international footballer who plays for M.S. Ashdod in Israel. He is the current number one goalkeeper for the national side. Transferred from Accra-based Ghanaian club Hearts of Oak for a reported $150,000 on September 15 2005. He became the football national hero after having saved a penalty by the Danish champion Rene Nygaard Jensen.

Sammy Adjei (born September 1 1980) is a Ghanaian international footballer who plays for M.S. Ashdod in Israel. He is the current number one goalkeeper for the national side. Transferred from Accra-based Ghanaian club Hearts of Oak for a reported $150,000 on September 15 2005. He became the football national hero after having saved a penalty by the Danish champion Rene Nygaard Jensen.
Adjei was named in Ghana national football team's 2006 FIFA World Cup squad on 13 May 2006.Despite this, however, Adjei only made one appearance (as a substitute) when the Ghanaian goalkeeper, Richard Kingston was taken off with an injury. On 24 March 2007, Adjei manned the post for Ghana against Austria national football team in a FIFA International friendly in Graz. He was however injured in a heavy collision with an Austrian Striker in the first half and was taken to the hospital. Richard Kingson was brought on to replace him.
