Marcel Schmelzer

Marcel Schmelzer (born 22 January 1988 in Magdeburg) is a Germany Association football who plays for Borussia Dortmund, as a Defender (association football) full back.

Club career

Schmelzer started Marcel Schmelzer professional career with Borussia Dortmund, making Marcel Schmelzer first appearance on 9 August 2008, in the DFB-Pokal 2008–09 first-round match against Rot-Weiss Essen.Marcel Schmelzer first Fussball-Bundesliga appearance came in the following week, as Marcel Schmelzer played the final twenty minutes of a 3-2 win at Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

International career

Schmelzer was called by the Germany national under-21 football team for the 2009 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship, being used regularly, albeit not as a starter; Marcel Schmelzer played the final five minutes in the final, a 4-0 success against England national under-21 football team.
