Milivoje Novakovič (born May 18, 1979 in Ljubljana) is a Slovenian professional Association football who plays as a striker for 1. FC Köln.
Club career
He is currently playing for Germany Bundesliga team 1. FC Köln as an attacker. Milivoje came to 1. FC Köln from the Bulgarian PFC Litex Lovech, where he rose to prominence. He has also played for the Austrian club LASK Linz, having began his career with Olimpija Ljubljana.
With Litex he reached the UEFA Cup 2005-06 round of 32, came third in the Bulgarian A Professional Football Group and became the championship's top goalscorer.
He has been linked with Germany team 1. FC Köln, Israeli team Beitar Jerusalem FC and Bulgarian champions Levski Sofia, but he nevertheless played for Litex in the UEFA Cup 2006-07 against his compatriots FC Koper and AC Omonia from Cyprus despite his wish to continue his career in a different team. .
He finally joined 1. FC Köln in late August 2006 for around euro1.5 million.
He was the top goalscorer in the 2. German Bundesliga during the 07/08 season with the club.
On 12.09.2008 coach Cristopher Daum made him a captain of first squad of 1. FC Köln.
International career
He is a Striker (football) in the Slovenia national football team with impressive performances, notably a hat trick for Slovenia against Trinidad and Tobago national football team.
