Thomas Broich (born January 29, 1981 in Munich) is a German football (soccer) player with 1. FC Köln in the Fußball-Bundesliga. His position is midfielder.

Club career
Broich played in several bavarian youth teams as ASV Rott/Inn, TSV 1860 Rosenheim and SpVgg Unterhaching. Later he played for the U23 of Unterhaching and could earn promotion the 4th league but the manager did not use him for the first squad so he decided to leave the town in the neighbourhood of Munich. He signed a contract with SV Wacker Burghausen of the Regionalliga Süd and earned promotion to the 2. Fußball-Bundesliga in 2002. In January 2004 he was given the opportunity to play in the first league for Borussia Mönchengladbach. As talented player he soon was an important member of the team. After losing the confidence of the manager ,he went to rivals 1. FC Köln in 2006 where he has a contract in the 2. Fußball-Bundesliga until 2009.
International career
From 2002 to 2004, Broich played seven times for the Germany national under-21 football team. In 2004 and 2005, he was s member of the "Team 2006", a team that give players a chance to play international friendlies to gain experience for a future in the national squad.
