International career

Błaszczykowski debuted for the Poland national football team on 28 March 2006 in a friendly against Saudi Arabia. Although Jakub Blaszczykowski did not receive a call up for the 2006 FIFA World Cup, Jakub Blaszczykowski was an important part of Poland's UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.

Jakub Blaszczykowski was named in Poland's squad for Euro 2008 but withdrew due to injury.

On 17 November 2010, Jakub Blaszczykowski made Jakub Blaszczykowski debut as captain of the Polish national team.
