Carlos Alberto, real name Carlos Alberto Gomes de Jesus , born December 11, 1984, in Rio de Janeiro, is a Brazilian attacking midfielder.
Carlos Alberto started his career with Fluminense Football Club, where he won the Campeonato Carioca on 2002. He moved on to FC Porto under coach José Mourinho in January 2004. There, he won the SuperLiga and the UEFA Champions League, where he scored the first goal in the UEFA_Champions_League_2003-04 Final rout of AS Monaco FC.
In the beginning of 2005, he moved to Sport Club Corinthians Paulista (who signed a partnership with Media Sports Investments, where he won the Brasileirão in 2005 being one of the major players of the team. In 2006 Sport Club Corinthians Paulista did poorly on all competitions and Carlos Alberto lost a lot of room in the team and after a long fight with Sport Club Corinthians Paulista manager, Emerson Leão, which peaked at a Copa Sudamericana game against Club Atlético Lanús, he stated he would never again play in Sport Club Corinthians Paulista as long as Leão remained as manager. He has since been loaned out to Fluminense Football Club from January to December 2007.
He joined Werder Bremen in July 2007 with a deal of € 7.8M which was a club record of Werder Bremen.
Carlos Alberto has 5 caps with the Brazil national football team.
