Mehdi Méniri

Mehdi Méniri (born June 29, 1977 in Metz) is a French-born Algerian football (soccer) defender (football) who is currently playing for SC Bastia in France's Ligue 2.

Biography

Despite being born in Metz, his first played senior football for AS Nancy. He moved on to Troyes AC, with whom he played in the UEFA Cup, and in the summer of 2003 he finally went to play for FC Metz. After 3 seasons with FC Metz he signed with SC Bastia in Ligue 2.

At the end of the 2007-2008 season, he was loaned out to Qatari club Al-Khor Sports Club for 3 months. He returned to SC Bastia after his loan spell.

International career

Méniri made his debut for the Algeria national football team in a friendly against Bulgaria national football team in November 14, 2000.
