Career
Club
Born in south Dublin, Andy Keogh attended St Brigid's NS Foxrock and CBC Monkstown. Keogh began Andy Keogh playing career at Cabinteely FC and St Josephs Boys AFC in South Dublin before moving to Leeds United A.F.C. at the age of sixteen. Andy Keogh never managed to make Andy Keogh mark at Leeds, and so was subsequently loaned out to then Football League Two side Scunthorpe United F.C. at the beginning of the 2004-05 in English football.
Here, Andy Keogh made Andy Keogh league debut on 7 August 2004 in a 3-1 win over . Andy Keogh scored 2 goals in 12 appearances before an injury crisis at Elland Road caused Andy Keogh to be recalled to Andy Keogh parent club. Andy Keogh then spent the rest of 2004 playing reserve games for Leeds, until Andy Keogh was loaned to Bury F.C. in January 2005 as a replacement for Preston North End F.C.-bound David Nugent.
While on loan at Bury, Scunthorpe United F.C. manager Brian Laws made an offer to Leeds (said to be around £50,000) to bring Andy Keogh to the club on a permanent basis. Leeds accepted the offer, and on 14 February, Keogh rejoined the club Andy Keogh had started the season with. Andy Keogh only scored only one further goal, but was part of the team which won promotion to Football League One as runners-up behind .
Andy Keogh truly made Andy Keogh mark in the 2005-06 in English football, notably after Scunthorpe signed fellow 19-year-old striker Billy Sharp for £100,000 from Sheffield United F.C.. Keogh became part of the most potent strike-force in League One, scoring 38 goals between them, with Andy netting 15 of them. Andy Keogh also scored Scunthorpe's goal in the FA Cup 3rd Round visit to Manchester City, beating England national football team International goalkeeper David James (footballer) in the process.
On 12 January 2007, it was announced that Andy Keogh had rejected an improved contract offer from Scunthorpe United and would therefore be free to leave the club at the end of the 2006-07 in English football. As Andy Keogh was under the age of 24, Scunthorpe were able to command a fee for him, either as a direct offer or via a tribunal.
Having had an earlier bid of £500,000 turned down, Keogh signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. on 23 January 2007. Andy Keogh signed a 3 and a half year contract with the transfer set to cost Wolves an initial £600,000 potentially rising to £850,000 with add-ons.
Keogh earned plaudits for Andy Keogh displays for Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C., with Queens Park Rangers manager John Gregory (footballer) describing Andy Keogh as "one of the signings of the season."

2008−09 saw Keogh's first team opportunities limited with Chris Iwelumo and Sylvan Ebanks-Blake topping the championship top scorers list. In February 2009 Keogh signed a new contract with the club making Andy Keogh a fixture at the Molineux Stadium club until Summer 2012.
International
Keogh received Andy Keogh first call-up to the Republic of Ireland national football team squad from Steve Staunton in March 2007, after Caleb Folan was forced to withdraw through injury. Andy Keogh went on to make Andy Keogh debut for the senior team on 23 May 2007 in a friendly against Ecuador national football team in Giants Stadium, New York, and later featured in their UEFA Euro 2008 qualifying Group D campaign.
Andy Keogh scored the equaliser in Giovanni Trapattoni's first match in charge, a 1-1 draw with Serbia national football team in a friendly match at Croke Park, Dublin, a goal that won the Football Association of Ireland Goal of the Year Award. Keogh had also scored the first goal of the Trapattoni era in a training camp game against a Portuguese football league team.
