Gerardo Bedoya

Gerardo Alberto Bedoya Múnera (born 26 November 1975 in Ebejico, Antioquia Department) is a Colombian football (soccer). Gerardo Bedoya began as a Defender (football) and now plays as a defensive midfielder for Independiente Santa Fe in the Fútbol Profesional Colombiano.

Gerardo Alberto Bedoya Múnera (born 26 November 1975 in Ebejico, Antioquia Department) is a Colombian football (soccer). Gerardo Bedoya began as a Defender (football) and now plays as a defensive midfielder for Independiente Santa Fe in the Fútbol Profesional Colombiano.

Club career

Bedoya started Gerardo Bedoya professional career with Deportivo Pereira in 1996. Gerardo Bedoya joined Deportivo Cali in 1998 where Gerardo Bedoya was part of the squad that won the league title in 1998.

In 2001, Bedoya moved to Argentina where Gerardo Bedoya played for Racing Club de Avellaneda, helping the club to win the Apertura 2001 tournament. In 2004 Gerardo Bedoya joined Colón de Santa Fe and in 2005 Gerardo Bedoya moved to Boca Juniors where Gerardo Bedoya only played 3 games (all in the Copa Libertadores) before moving to Mexico to play for Puebla F.C.

In 2005 Bedoya returned to Colombia to play for Atlético Nacional and in 2006 Gerardo Bedoya joined Millonarios. After Gerardo Bedoya went for a brief time to Envigado FC. But then joined Boyacá Chicó F.C for the 2010 season.

In 2011, Bedoya has signed a one-year contract with Independiente Santa Fe.

International career

Gerardo Bedoya was the starting left back for the Colombia national football team from 2001-2006. During that time Gerardo Bedoya was part of the Colombia squad that won the Copa América 2001. Gerardo Bedoya has a nephew named Adam Bedoya.
