Elin Topuzakov (born February 5, 1977) is a Bulgarian football (soccer) defender who currently plays for Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C. He is nicknamed Topcho . He is a sweeper or center back known for his ability to organize defenses and read the game.
Topuzakov started his career in Dimitrovgrad and joined PFC Levski Sofia in January 1996. A player with a big heart and a cool head, he has made his way as one of the legends of the club. Topuzakov was among the few players who have won three consecutive titles for Levski (in 2000, 2001 and 2002) and were still on the team. He was the captain of the team, and his ability to organize defense was very important for Levski's success in 2006.
Topuzakov is also a regular start-up for the Bulgarian national football team.
2008
On 03 January 2008 PFC Levski and Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C have agreed on the transfers of Elin Topuzakov and Dimitar Telkiyski. The two players moves to Israel to pass medical examinations and to negotiate the conditions of their contracts with Hapoel. They signed their official contacts with Haopel on 07 January 2008. Topuzakov chose to play with kit number 5. Both Topuzakov and Telkiyski made their debut for Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C on 12 January 2008 against Hapoel Kfar Saba F.C. Hapoel Tel Aviv lost the match in 1:2 result.
