Omri Afek biography
Omri Afek (, born 31 March 1979) is an Israeli football (soccer) player.
He started playing for Hapoel Kiryat Ono on youth level. He later moved to Hapoel Tel Aviv F.C.. He became famous for his fine play during Hapoel's UEFA Cup stint and also started playing for the Israel national football team. From 2003 played in La Liga with Racing Santander and UD Salamanca before moving to Beitar Jerusalem in 2005. He got little playing time under manager Luis Fernandez because of a personal dispute, but he is supposed to become a first lineup player under new manager Ossie Ardiles.
Afek can play as a right Winger (football) or even as a striker, but at Beitar he has been playing in the right fullback (football) position.
Afek is currently the focus of transfer speculation linking him with Leeds United A.F.C].
