Thiago Neves Augusto or simply Thiago Neves (born February 27, 1985 in Curitiba), is a Brazilian Football (soccer) positions attacking midfielder. He currently plays for Hamburger SV, for whom he wears the number 27 shirt. He is known for his accurate passing skills, brilliant dribbling and for his powerful long distance shots.

Club Career
He accomplished the unique feat of scoring a Hat-trick Association_football in a cup final (during the Copa Libertadores 2008 Copa Libertadores) but ending up on the losing side, as Fluminense drew 5-5 on aggregate with LDU de Quito and were eventually downed in the penalty shootout.
He had been strongly linked with a move to many clubs across Europe. Manchester City were believed to be leading the race to sign the young midfielder but clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Hamburger SV were also believed to be interested according to the players agent who also said: "The chances of an agreement with Manchester City are great, but there are other teams interested". On Saturday, August 30, 2008, it was announced that Thiago Neves is an official Hamburger SV player and is seen as the ideal replacement for the outgoing Rafael van der Vaart.
International Career
He was called by Dunga, the Brazil National Football Team coach, to be part of the Beijing Olympics football squad.
